IDLE DAMNATION
PREMISE
Idle Damnation is my paracosm set in early 2000s Maine. Idle Damnation follows a celebrity PR lawyer, Elliot Yu, and all his problematic clients, while he tries to maintain relevancy.
PROTAGONIST
Elliot Maxwell Yu (featured A LOT in my work) is a 35-year-old criminal defense attorney living in Arkney, Vice County, Maine, during the early 2000s. He is the regional manager in the PR department of the SuperNova talent agency. All the crimes he defends occur during his navigation of the pressure of his career and personal identity. Battling inner turmoil, he is determined to find his purpose in his job. At the beginning of his career, he found great success coining the nickname in a crime article ‘RumorMill’ as “Lucky Strike” but since then, despite his reputation and career, he has faded to obscurity, having no meaningful purpose outside of work, having put all his attention towards it.
